Short Course Introduction

In the name of Allah, Most Beneficent, Most Merciful 

Welcome to Short Course-2 (SC-2). Only after you have completed Short Course-1 (SC-1), please start this course.  The lessons are numbered from 26 till 52 (because Short course-1 lessons are from 1-25).   

The two short courses (SC-1 and SC-2), are basically revised and improved versions extracted from the Basic Course.  You can start the Qur’an after the two courses directly.  You don’t have to learn the Basic Course anymore. 

This course also has been offered to hundreds of people so far.  It is a 12-hour course which can be offered in four sessions of 3 hours each or three sessions of 4 hours each. Here it is presented in 27 sessions of approximately 25 minutes, so that one can study a part of it every day.

The course consists of additional small Surahs, supplications taught by the Prophet peace be upon him, important recitations such as Ayatal Kursi and last of Surah Al-Hashr, and other selections. It also contains necessary Grammar.  Through these selections, almost 150 words of the Qur’an are taught which occur around 15,000 times in the Qur’an.  After you complete both the courses (SC-1 and SC-2), you will learn almost 250 words which occur approx. 55,000 times in the Qur’an (out of a total of approx. 78,000 words). That comes to around 70%!!! After these course, you will have only 2 new words per line of the Qur’an (on the average).  In fact, it is even lesser than that as you proceed.  The following graphs gives you the new words in each para/juz of the Qur’an.  From this you can easily tell that the new words in the Qur’an are:

20 per page in the first para/juz.

12 per page for Para/Juz Numbers 2 to 5.

6 per page for para/Juz Numbers 6 to 28.

12 per page for Para/Juz Numbers 29 and 30.

Isn’t the Qur’an easy to understand?  So, don’t give up. Pray to Allah and keep going.
